Where can the building sit? How will people and vehicles reach it? Our site planning work considers building placement, setbacks, driveways, access, and parking in relation to the property and its intended use. These early decisions help shape the architectural design and land development plans.
Grading and Drainage Plans
The slope of a site affects where rainwater flows. Depending on the project, we develop grading and drainage plans that account for proposed buildings, paved areas, and changes to the ground.
Stormwater Management
New roofs and paved surfaces can change runoff. We address project-specific stormwater needs as part of the civil design, with the required approach and documentation determined by the site and reviewing jurisdiction.
Utility Coordination
Water, sewer, and other site utilities need to fit the proposed layout. We coordinate relevant utility information and service locations with the building and site plans, according to the project scope and utility providers’ requirements.
Site Plan Review and Permitting Support
When included in the project scope, AB Group prepares or coordinates civil documents for site plan or land development review and helps address related review comments. The local authority determines submission requirements and approvals.
Civil Engineering Outside NC, SC, and TX
For projects in states where AB Group does not hold a civil engineering license, we coordinate the civil work with a qualified partner licensed in the project’s state.
