AB Group PLLC was commissioned to lead the full architectural and interior design process for Yugenn, a contemporary Asian-fusion restaurant and cocktail lounge that celebrates sensory immersion and elevated dining. Our team delivered a fully integrated design solution; from concept development to final detailing; crafted to reflect Yugenn’s brand philosophy: mystery, depth, and the beauty found in the unseen.

This award-worthy space merges refined materiality, atmospheric lighting, and sculptural elements to create a truly unforgettable hospitality environment.

Yugenn stands today as one of the city’s most visually captivating and experientially immersive dining destinations. The architectural design elevates the restaurant’s brand, enhances guest engagement, and sets a new benchmark for luxury hospitality environments.

We began by translating Yugenn’s culinary narrative and cultural inspiration into an architectural language. The concept focused on mystique, modern luxury, and experiential dining, shaping every design decision including:

• A fully immersive ceiling system inspired by flowing forms and organic movement
• Integration of lush greenery and soft, glowing pendants to create a floating “forest canopy”
• A brand-aligned palette of black, gold, and deep magenta to enhance drama and sophistication
• Spatial choreography that guides guests from arrival to dining to bar lounge
   

This early vision set the foundation for a cohesive guest experience, seamlessly blending brand identity with spatial expression.

Our team developed a highly efficient and visually striking layout to support Yugenn’s dual functions as a dining destination and cocktail lounge

Key deliverables included:

• Full interior space planning for dining zones, private seating clusters, and bar circulation
• Design of a statement bar with sculptural gold ribbing and illuminated vertical niches
• Strategic placement of seating to maximize comfort, views, and operational flow
• ADA-compliant accessibility solutions across the restaurant
• Integration of indoor–outdoor connectivity through operable window walls and patio design
   

The result is a fluid dining environment that balances efficiency, intimacy, and visual delight.

AB Group curated and designed custom elements to elevate the guest experience and reinforce the restaurant’s identity:

• Bespoke gold-trimmed dining chairs with black upholstery
• Custom black marble tables with gold perimeter inlays
• A fully custom bar face, back-bar shelving system, and signature overhead soffit with continuous linear lighting
• Integrated storage and functional mill work to support staff efficiency

Each piece was carefully considered as part of the overall artistic composition.

Atmosphere is central to Yugenn’s identity. Our lighting strategy blends architectural lighting with mood-driven accents to create a dynamic, sensual environment.

Key features include:

• Programmable LED lighting woven through the sculptural ceiling feature
• Soft spherical pendants suspended through hanging greenery to evoke floating lanterns
• Accent lighting highlighting textures, vertical fins, and bar displays 
• Controlled illumination levels to support daytime dining and late-night lounge ambiance
   

This immersive lighting system transforms the space throughout the day, deepening the emotional impact of the design.

We curated a material palette that reflects sophistication, warmth, and a modern Asian aesthetic.

Highlights include:

• Rich black textured wall finishes
• Sculpted gold slatted ceiling treatments
• Veined black marble for bar tops and table surfaces
• Bold pops of magenta upholstery for the bar stools
• Lush greenery to soften the space and connect guests with nature
   

The interplay of matte and reflective textures adds depth and dimension to the environment.

To ensure the built space faithfully represented the design intent, AB Group delivered:

• Comprehensive construction drawings
• Custom millwork shop drawings
• Lighting layouts and electrical plans
• Finish schedules and specifications
• Coordination with engineers, contractors, and fabricators throughout construction
